Agilitas backs buy-out of specialist health and social care recruitment company Sanctuary & Seven Group

Agilitas Private Equity LLP (“Agilitas”), the pan-European mid-market private equity firm, today announces the completion of the buyout of Sanctuary & Seven Group (“Sanctuary & Seven” or “the Group”), the specialist recruitment services company that provides essential health and social care staff across the UK and the US, supporting the most vulnerable in society.

Sanctuary & Seven is a high-quality provider of recruitment services covering a wide range of placements in the public and private sectors across the healthcare, social care, criminal justice and life sciences industries. The Group provides placements for various time periods, from temporary to permanent, and has access to an international candidate base to fulfil UK and US-based opportunities. Its fundamental purpose is to support the health and social care sector in the delivery of essential services by providing tailored recruitment solutions and social work services. The Group is well recognised for its innovative programmes that significantly improve outcomes for vulnerable children and young adults. Local authorities, healthcare trusts, as well as private health and social care organisations, who must deliver on their care obligations, view the Group as a trusted long-term service delivery partner.

Sanctuary & Seven is headquartered in Ipswich, England, and has four additional offices around the UK. The Group has over 400 employees and, in the last three years, it has placed more than 10,000 qualified staff in the healthcare sector and more than 6,000 in the social care sector. The Group is made up of three separate businesses: Sanctuary Personnel, Seven and Innovate Services. Sanctuary Personnel and Seven focus on specialist recruitment for the health and social sector in the UK. Seven has a particularly strong foothold in private markets across Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales, while Sanctuary Personnel focuses predominantly on the public sector in England. Innovate Services provides practitioner-led services solutions to identify more efficient ways of delivering high quality children’s social work services.

Nadja Goldbach, Investment Executive at Agilitas commented: “Sanctuary & Seven is highly regarded by its clients, and it is this reputation that has enabled the Group to partner with local authorities and nearly every NHS Trust in the UK. Agilitas has extensive experience backing healthcare and social services businesses and we look forward to working closely with the Group’s talented management team to develop the service offering and support the delivery of essential services.”

James Rook, Chief Executive Officer of Sanctuary & Seven, remarked: “Our Group takes pride in providing essential services and delivering innovative solutions that make a tangible difference to the most vulnerable people in society. We are thrilled about this partnership and are confident that Agilitas’s proven track record of supporting purpose-driven companies will enhance our ambition and support our next phase of growth.”

Martin Calderbank, Managing Partner of Agilitas, said: “Like other companies backed by Agilitas, Sanctuary & Seven is a high-quality business that provides critical services to the health and social care sector. By placing candidates into critical roles, the Group supports the positive functioning of communities, illustrating the clear alignment between generating shareholder value and societal good. We are excited to be able to use our expertise and experience in this space to help the Group develop innovative solutions, new technologies and efficient processes that maximise the positive impact on society.”
