Agilitas strengthens ESG and investment teams

Agilitas Private Equity (“Agilitas”), the pan-European mid-market private equity firm, is pleased to announce that it has strengthened its ESG and investment teams with two new senior appointments. Philip Krinks has joined the firm as an ESG transformation consultant, and will build on the team’s existing expertise to support Agilitas as it continues to evolve its responsible investment approach. Agilitas also welcomes Arnaud Moreels to its investment team, where he will help to drive multi-dimensional business transformations in high-quality, defensible companies across Europe.

Agilitas has been harnessing the transformational power of private equity for more than ten years with the objective of creating a sustainable, positive impact on society and the environment. The firm only backs businesses that generate social or environmental value, and where there is an alignment between the fundamental purpose of the business and shareholder value.

At the firm level, Philip will help to institutionalise best practices at Agilitas and ensure that there is a shared understanding of the firm’s responsible investment strategy among all stakeholders. At the portfolio company level, Philip will work with management teams to help them implement thoughtful ESG transformation plans that promote activities which have a positive impact on society and the environment, and which Agilitas believes are a key driver of growth and exceptional performance.

Prior to Agilitas, Philip spent 15 years at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) as Partner serving global companies within the healthcare and natural resources sectors. He also spent ten years as Director at The Saint Martin’s Partnership helping social enterprises, charities, and public bodies to grow and develop sustainably through expertise in finance, planning, management, and organisation. Philip holds an MBA from INSEAD, a PhD in Ethics from the University of London and an MA in Classics from the University of Oxford.

Arnaud will join Agilitas’s growing team of investment professionals and will work across every stage of Agilitas’s investment process, identifying and growing businesses where the fundamental purpose is aligned with value creation. Arnaud will bolster Agilitas’s coverage of niche subsectors across Europe, identifying robust platform companies with strong management teams capable of driving transformational growth.

Arnaud joined Agilitas with more than ten years of private equity and investment banking experience. His sector experience includes consumer technology, infrastructure, logistics, media, telecommunications and technology. Arnaud holds a Master’s degree in Business Engineering from Solvay Brussels School. He speaks French, Spanish, and English.

Martin Calderbank, Managing Partner at Agilitas, commented: “We are pleased to welcome Philip and Arnaud to our growing team of talented transformation and investment professionals. Philip’s understanding of helping companies and organisations within the social sector will be a significant asset for the firm and will help us to elevate our approach to responsible investing to the next level. Arnaud’s investment experience within some of Agilitas’s core sectors will strengthen our ability to support quality-focused step changes in the performance of businesses that contribute to human or planetary flourishing.”
